The scaling stage is where product management gets uncomfortable. The intuition-driven decision-making that worked with a ten-person team starts producing inconsistent results when the organisation has fifty people, three product teams, and customers in multiple segments. The playbook that got you here will not get you there.
At PR_D_CT DAY 2025 in Ghent, Niki Van den Broeck from Lighthouse took the stage at RodeBol Events to share a firsthand account of what changes when a product organisation enters scaling mode. Her talk focused not on the theoretical frameworks of scaling but on the lived experience: the things that break, the habits that must be unlearned, and the new disciplines that must be built from scratch.
For the product managers and leaders in the audience, many of whom work at Belgian and European tech companies navigating similar growth trajectories, the talk was a candid preview of what lies ahead and what to start preparing for now.
