Startups get all the attention when it comes to AI adoption. But some of the most interesting AI stories are happening inside large, established organizations where the stakes are higher, the constraints are tighter, and the politics are real. At Gathering #5, Nicolas Van Kerschaver, Director of Digitization at Liantis, pulled back the curtain on what AI adoption looks like in a large Belgian corporate with thousands of employees.
Liantis is a social secretariat serving over 60,000 employers in Belgium. The organization handles payroll, HR administration, and regulatory compliance, domains where errors have direct financial and legal consequences. This is not a sandbox environment for AI experiments. Every deployment must be reliable, explainable, and compliant from day one.
Nicolas's talk was a reality check for anyone who thinks enterprise AI adoption is simply a matter of choosing the right model and deploying it. The real work happens in the layers around the technology: governance, change management, data quality, and organizational alignment.
